    On Friday, the Lady Wolves hosted the Big Horn Lady Rams. Moorcroft got out to a quick start and got it going on the defensive end. The Lady Wolves led, 13-2 after the first quarter and took a 33-10 lead into the half. We made some adjustments at halftime with our offensive spacing and played a great second half.     Conference duals were held in Tongue River this past weekend hosting Moorcroft, Hulett, Sundance, Wright and Tongue River. The Wolves came home with two conference champions, Wyatt Cook and Sean Buckmiller and third place as a team.     On February 3, the Crook County Special Olympics team competed in their Winter Area Games at Terry Peak. The State Winter Games held in Jackson, Wyoming were cancelled this year but there will be a virtual competition in which athletes’ times will be entered against others from around the state.     On Thursday, the Lady Wolves traveled to Wright for a make-up game. The junior varsity started the night off right with a pressure defense and rebounding to transition that caused problems for the Panthers. The Lady Wolves won the JV game, 21-2. The varsity team then took the floor. They got off to a slow start in the first quarter, but saw themselves ahead, 26-17 at the end of the first half.     Four former standout wrestlers at Moorcroft High School are members of the Chadron State College wrestling team this winter. They are Parker Seeley, Rowdy Pfeil, Tate Allison and Parker Schlater. Allison is a senior and the others are freshmen. Allison and Pfeil are in the varsity lineup while Seeley and Schlater have been wrestling exhibition matches.     The Wolves wrestling team had a busy weekend of duals traveling to Wheatland on Friday and hosting three duals at home on Saturday.     On Thursday, the Wolves boys basketball team traveled to Sundance to take on the second ranked 2A Bulldogs in their third conference game of the season. The Wolves came out and handled the pressure of the Bulldogs and played a good first quarter, but trailed, 15-13 going into the second.     On Thursday, the Wolves boys basketball team traveled to Big Horn to take on the Rams in their first conference game of the season. The boys got off to a sluggish start and trailed after the first quarter, 17-8. In the second, we played a little better offensively, but were still behind going into half, 35-20.     On Thursday, the Lady Wolves traveled to Big Horn to take on the Rams. The game started slow for both teams with neither able to do much in the first quarter. The second quarter was better for the Wolves and the team found themselves ahead, 23-11 at the half.     On Thursday, the Moorcroft Wolves boys’ basketball team traveled to Wall, SD to take on the Eagles in the first round of the 39th annual West River Classis Basketball Tournament.     On Tuesday, the Lady Wolves traveled to Hot Springs to take on the Bison. Moorcroft got off to a good start and found themselves ahead, 16-8 at the end of the first quarter.
