  • Wolves continue to show improvement

    Clayton McSpadden|Sep 22, 2022

The Wolves Football team was on the road on Friday for a game vs. Southeast. The game was immediately delayed due to a small storm, but it didn’t put things behind by more than half an hour. The boys came out a little unsettled, but quickly came into their own and started playing Moorcroft ball. They were able to establish an effective run game behind a much-improved offensive line. Defensively, the team was able to hold off the run attack that Southeast is so well known for. The Wolves never gave in and continued to fight until the end. The P...

  • Wolves football season begins

    Clayton McSpadden|Sep 15, 2022

The Wolves football team came out against Greybull Sept. 1 in the first away game of the season. The boys came out extremely emotional and extremely excited and, as with anything, this causes some boys to act without thinking. Once some mistakes were made, which we knew would happen, the boys settled down and began to play one heck of a game. It was a very physical game all around. Greybull was much bigger, faster and stronger than us. However, that never once stopped the Wolves from fighting for each stop and each yard. I am extremely pleased...

  • She Wolves stepping high this season

    Katie Williams|Sep 15, 2022

The Moorcroft Wolves had some great competition at the Gillette volleyball tournament at the beginning of the season. We faced 4A and 3A teams and it helped our team step up competitively. The team went 2-4 for the weekend, but I am proud of our effort. It was fun to see our girls compete at the next level of play. This was a learning experience for us and will continue to make us stronger as a team. Every team we faced, we stepped up and made it a close match, and that was huge for us. Out of...

Six Wolves participated in track at State over the weekend and the kids had a great time in spite of the weather. The girls won the medley relay in a snow storm! Mallory Jones won the 800m, 1600m and took third in the 3200m as well; Kaylee Terry won second in the 400m; Marcus James won sixth in the 3200m; and Talissa Fischbach won seventh in the pole vault. • One stroke takes the win in Wright

    Dusty Petz|May 19, 2022

On Friday, the Moorcroft Wolves Golf Team traveled to Wright for the two day Spring Championships. It wasn't the type of day that we would have liked to have from a weather standpoint, specifically the wind, and I don't think any of the players were happy with their scores when golf ended on Friday. From a boys team perspective, we were seven shots out of the lead for the Powder River Conference Championship and sitting in fourth place for all of the 2A teams. We returned on Saturday to better...

  • Wolves meet Bulldogs at invite

    Arlen Hulm|May 12, 2022

This last Friday, the Moorcroft Wolves met the Sundance Bulldogs on the bulldogs’ track and the Wolves did a great job. The girls team bettered their qualifying time by four seconds in the medley relay and that’s exactly what we want to do going into the last couple weeks. The girls had a great day and against some great competition. They took home first in the medley, 100m hurdles, 1600m, 3200m; second in the 300m hurdles; and third in the 200m and the 400m. Everyone is running their best times and we can try to fine tune hand-offs and the...

  • MHS golfers rally after missing games

    Dusty Petz|May 12, 2022

On Friday, the Moorcroft Wolves Golf Team traveled to Lusk. It was only our third tournament of the season after getting weathered out of the rest of them. It was a windy day, but good to be able to get out on the golf course. Cade Williams and Zane Linder shared low individual scores, good for seventh/eighth place by both shooting a 99. Dane Connally was tenth with a score of 103 and Cole Stripp finished 14th with a score of 109. Dusty Petz|Apr 14, 2022

On Friday, the Moorcroft Wolves Boys and Girls Golf Teams traveled to Upton for their first tournament of the year. In the boys division, Cade Williams led the Wolves by shooting a 97 for fifth place; Cole Stripp got ninth, with a score of 108; and Gus Robertson got 15th, with a score of 131. On the girl's side, Camlyn...
