Organizer Karla Brandenburg estimates that around 60 people attended, which she notes is particularly impressive considering the frigid temperatures at the time. “Volunteer DJs Tabin Boyer [and Donnie Donner] played everything from old country to rock n’ roll to today’s music for the very diverse crowd we had,” she says. The board plans to schedule its next dance for...

The Community of Moorcroft was loved by our grandparents, parents and will always be “home” to the Smoot chi...

The Presbyterian Church of Moorcroft had its kids’ Christmas program Sunday, December 20, featuring a live pony (Old Paint) – yes, a live pony in church! Old Paint, owned by Voy Cox, carried Mary (Chevell Renneisen) to the stable to have the baby Jesus and Joseph (Alek Renneisen) led Old Paint and knocked on pews, asking, “Do you have any rooms?” as Pastor Monte Reichenberg told the story. Seven angels came out as Mary Beth Percifield sang “Hark the Harold Angels” and two shepherds (Cadin Cant...
Santa and his elves entertained fans in Pine Haven a little differently this season. Not to be out-maneuvered by Covid, the recreation board hosted “Drive by Santa” and the idea was a triumph with the 40 goody bags on hand delivered through windows and to youngsters arriving on foot before the day was done. Councilwoman Kristi Speed, who hid her elf ears under her hat, said of the occasion, “I loved seeing the smiles on the kids’ faces and their surprised look when Santa asked if they had bee...
With so many activities suspended or cancelled over the last year due to the pandemic, the Pine Haven Recreation Board, organizers of the annual visit from Santa, were determined to find a safe way to have the jolly elf drop by and say hi to the kids while still maintaining safety guidelines. Thus, the first Drive thru Santa is initiated. On Saturday, December 19, starting at 1 p.m., Santa will be at the Pine Haven Town Hall parking lot and as vehicles slowly circle through, like at a fast food window, he will step up to the window and deliver...
