There’s gonna be a shoot out at Lakeside Sporting Clays, 101 McKean Road, east of Pine Haven, on Saturday, August 14. The divisions include men, women and youth (all participants under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult). The appreciation barbecue hosted by the Over the Hill Gang in Pine Haven was well attended by fire fighters, emergency medical personnel, law enforcement and veterans last Wednesday. Legal Aid of Wyoming will be available at the Pine Haven Community Center on Wednesday, August 4, after lunch, to help people with preparation of wills, directives, etc. This group can also assist with an assortment of other non-criminal issues. For years, the last Saturday of July has been the day to go to the Blakeman Family Reunion and this year it will be on July 31 at the Belle Fourche River Rest Area, just west of Moorcroft, at noon. Saturday saw the third annual Lakeview Show and Shine Car Show open with a bang with 50 entries in the first hour and more coming in as fast as they could be registered. Ultimately, there were 54 entered in the competition and 40 just for fun, coming from all over the county including several from Hulett, Moorcroft and Sundance. A few minutes before 10 a.m. last Wednesday, librarians Lacey Rasco and Heather Reynolds walked into the canopied picnic area at Robinson Perk to prepare for Story Hour. A while back, Emily Smith and husband Bill, who serve on the Pine Haven Town Council and Over The Hill Gang (senior group) committee board respectively, approached the “Gang” with an offer to donate a black powder rifle and pistol to be raffled off. The firemen’s benefit hosted at the Devils Tower KOA Monday was a hit, according to Teresa Brown, who helped man the grill at the event. “It’s really nice; a lot of good people are here,” she said. The Wyoming Arts Council is holding the first round in a series of statewide listening sessions in Northeast Wyoming. These events are free and open to the public. Individual artists, community members, grantees and volunteers, board members and staff from local arts organizations are invited to attend. The Moorcroft Interfaith Community (MIC) is hosting Free Ice Cream Friday, starting July 2 at Donna’s Diner.
