    The Crook County School District held their annual Bus Driver's Clinic in Hulett Aug. 16, with all route bus drivers and substitute drivers attending. All bus drivers are required by the State of Wyoming to complete six hours of training yearly. This year, the clinic focused on defensive driving. Campbell County provided the training.   • Powder River Energy Foundation provides preschool tuition assistance in memory of Shayna Ritthaler

    The Powder River Energy Foundation awarded preschool tuition scholarships totaling $3450 to students at five preschools in Crook and Weston counties. This is the third allotment in a sustaining preschool tuition assistance program as part of the Shayna Ritthaler Memorial Scholarship.     The majority of Wyoming residents feel our schools don’t prepare children for the future, according to Governor Mark Gordon’s education advisory group. A public survey that garnered over 7000 responses – including 326 from Crook County – saw 59% of people answer “no” to the question. School district employees were the most likely to believe the way Wyoming educates its kids prepares them for the future at 48%, followed by parents and guardians at 44%, while concerned citizens were the least likely at just 29%.
