  • An unexpected training opportunity

    Grace Moore|Nov 23, 2023

The Moorcroft Volunteer Fire Department was recently given the opportunity to train for interior rescue scenarios, using an abandoned house north of town. The new owner was gracious enough to allow us to go in and practice." Because the two departments work so often together on the same scenes, Moorcroft invited Pine Haven to participate in this exercise. Pine...

JACKSON — Despite objections from some Republican lawmakers and local governments, a state task force is moving ahead with a draft bill to override local building regulations for accessory housing units like detached guest homes or mother-in-law apartments. Sen. Bob Ide, a Natrona County Republican, warned that the draft bill could add regulation — not reduce it — by layering state rules on top of local ones: “Just looks like we’ve got a one-size-fits-all homeowners association for the state of Wyoming,” Ide said. Ide raised his objections...

    Sarah Pridgeon|Nov 16, 2023

To make sure this is more than an illusion, the county commissioners will include public forums in the process of researching possible new zoning rules.
