On April 19, police were contacted regarding a suspicious vehicle parked at the Pinnacle Bank. The driver of the vehicle had placed a black bag outside of their vehicle and left it there. As the officer approached the bank, the vehicle in question left the parking lot, leaving the bag behind. A fatal vehicle crash on the intestate east of Sundance claimed the life of a Rapid City resident on Wednesday. The incident took place in the morning and involved a single SUV. According to reports from Wyoming Highway Patrol, the crash took place near milepost 199 at 8:52 a.m. on April 28. The vehicle was heading east when its left rear tire tread separated from the tire, which caused the driver to lose control. The vehicle exited the right side of the roadway, where it overturned. Thanks to the assistance of deputies from the Crook County Sheriff’s Office, a pregnant woman and her husband who found themselves stranded on Warren Peak last weekend were successfully rescued despite snowdrifts blocking the road. Long-unimproved Noonan Park, Moorcroft’s oldest municipal green space, is getting a significant upgrade this summer. Along with the newly built restrooms and a new piece of playground equipment, the defunct basketball court is being remodeled into a parking area. At approximately 7:30 a.m. Friday, a single vehicle was involved in an accident near Mile Post 154 outside of Moorcroft. Two Gillette residents were traveling eastbound onto I90 ramp near Moorcroft when the driver lost control of the late model GMC pickup near mile post 154.
