    With Moorcroft Mayor Dick Claar back in town and taking his seat at the Monday night workshop and subsequent meeting, his mayor pro-tem and the rest of the governing body once again made up the council in full.     The Moorcroft Area Chamber of Commerce held their first annual Christmas Light Contest. This year's contest had to be themed to a Christmas song/hymn. We had 21 total entries and they were all excellent in their own way. I asked the Lindholm family from Sundance to come and enjoy our lights and pick the one they enjoyed the most. After confirming the bill list, departments made their reports, including information on progress for the splash pad and the master community plan.     After 34 years of federal service, we congratulate Sue Skrove on her upcoming retirement! During her career Skrove worked in various parks and positions. Skrove began her relationship with the National Park Service as the business manager for Devils Tower Natural History Association.     The Wolves wrestling team traveled to Lusk this past Friday to wrestle in the Tiger Invitational. Bad weather and bad roads caused a few teams to back out last minute, but six teams made the trip and the full day of wrestling. Moorcroft’s team consists of 33 wrestlers this year, led by six seniors.     On Thursday, the Moorcroft Wolves Boys’ Basketball Team opened their season on the road at the Burns Winter Classic basketball tournament. The boys’ first game was against the Burns Broncs. The Broncs jumped out early and led 22-6 after the first quarter. They widened that lead and took a 40-11 halftime lead. The Broncs cruised to a 70-24 victory.     The Lady Wolves opened their season on the road at the Burns Tournament. Their first opponent out was the Lady Broncs from Burns. Burns got out to a small lead to start the game, but the Wolves responded and found themselves ahead 21-18 going into the half; neither team was able to gain ground in the second half and Moorcroft was able to come out with the 55-52 victory.
