Plans for the Moorcroft Town Center have not yet been put in motion regarding an answer to whether the Town Hall will move to the building or even what parts of it will remain standing, despite a number of public meetings, feasibility studies, surveys and more. Pine Haven burned the slash pile south of the maintenance shop Sunday with five firemen on site to ensure a clean and safe burn of the approximately 14-foot high, 25-30-foot wide and nearly 60-foot long mound. The blaze was set at 9:15 a.m. and, after the flames settled, the pile continued to smolder through Tuesday. Fencing of the new periphery of the cemetery is anticipated to be completed by December or January by FenceTech, of Sundance, according to Public Works Director Cory Allison, taking into account the weather. The Pine Haven Recreation Board celebrated the season Saturday with an ornament-making party at the community center. Kids, young and with a few more miles, enjoyed a warm and fun time with cupcakes and drinks as they used imagination and hung their masterpieces on the tree. Bibs, smiles and a big heart was Larry Lee Fowlkes, 65, of Mona, Wyoming. He passed away in the comfort of his own home on November 18, 2022. Larry was born on October 19, 1957, in Casper, Wyoming, to Robert Lee Fowlkes and Wilfreda Bunny-Fowlkes-Livingston. Larry was the oldest of three children. Larry spent his entire life growing up and working on his family ranch. George Champ Steele, age 70, died in the arms of his wife on November 12, 2022 in Gillette, Wyoming, after a courageous battle with cancer. George was born December 16, 1951 to Edwin and Edna Steele in Sundance, Wyoming. He graduated from Sundance High School in 1971. He is affectionately known as Champ to many friends across the state. David Allen Reynolds passed away peacefully in his sleep November 3, 2022. Dave was born November 25, 1930 at Hemingford, Nebraska, to Albert Charles and Grace (Watson) Reynolds. The family moved to Moorcroft, Wyoming, when he was seven years old and after leasing many places they bought what became the Circle C Ranch north of Moorcroft.
