Moorcroft's public works crewmen have taken the east fencing down at the Moorcroft Cemetery and mowed the newly acquired area before the new fencing is laid. Public Works Director Cory Allison has acquired two bids for the installation and the company to be hired will be determined at the first Wednesday night meeting of council, November 9. This widening out of the perimeter fence is the next step in the expansion of the cemetery, a project the council has worked on for several years. With the...
While Moorcroft did not apply for ARPA grant funding this time around, Mayor Ben Glenn said of the experience, “This one [gave] us a good idea of what’s happening [according to the recommendations].” Pine Haven had chosen to apply for $1,232,280 to upgrade hydrants within the municipality, replacing old and adding new, but were turned down. Mayor Karla Brandenburg assures residents, though, “We do have about $95,000 in previous ARPA funds that we may use to put in some of the new hydrants we need down on BOE drive, the council will have to...

This repaction will put the dirt-work behind schedule to some extent, but, says the mayor...

The Wyoming Game and Fish Department has discontinued sales of Type 7 licenses in Deer Hunt Areas 1, 2 and 3 in the northern Black Hills. These hunt areas in northeastern Wyoming have experienced a second consecutive year of an epizootic hemorrhagic disease (EHD) virus outbreak, resulting in higher-than-expected deer mortality. Despite the die-off last year, there were still many parts of the Black Hills with high concentrations of deer on private lands, which is why Game and Fish continued to issue these licenses. However, given this current...
