CASPER — Drive through downtown Casper on a typical summer afternoon, and more likely than not, you will see nothing remarkable. You may notice that the traffic is mild and the sidewalks are tidy and mostly empty — save for maybe a few shoppers and businesspeople wandering about. Visit during the evening, and you may have some angst finding street parking, especially if there’s a concert going on. Life downtown is pretty ordinary, in other words. Which might surprise you if you’ve Googled Casper lately. A rash of recent attention from nationa...

Last week, an official reward notice was received, confirming that the coalition received the grant. “There has definitely been some celebration around this news, it will help us to strengthen and grow the B...
Marcia and Bill Hill, David and Cathy Eddy, Norma and Bev Bagstrom, Ray Krechi and Char Betts smile for the camera at Char Betts' Labor Day celebration last weekend with a porch party for her old class of 1962. The friends ate fruits and vegetables cut as finger food and later enjoyed pumpkin bars, banana splits and root beer floats. The flags remained in situ through the much more solemn remembrance of 9/11....

The Moorcroft High School golf team will finish the fall season on Friday and Saturday at the 2023 Fall State Tournament that will be held at the Newcastle Country Club. We've seen overall growth in all aspects of the game, especially in the short game of chipping and putting, but the team has not played the Newcastle course this season so the first nine holes will be a new opportunity to learn and adjust their game. State golf is 36 total holes, with 18 holes played each day, which is mentally...

Against the Outlaws, the Lady Wolves had an overall of six aces, nine kills and 31 digs. Junior Kiriana Martinez got nine digs and senior Rebekah Anderson had two kills with a helping assist by...
It was a long trip to Saratoga but the boys showed up to play football. We had a little bit of a slow start in the first quarter, but then came out swinging the rest of the game. Braydnn Terry rushed for 251 yards behind a senior led O-line that played fantastic. Our defense also played very well with Trenten Gray coming away with an interception and all the boys who played on defense made some big plays. All in all, we played very well as a whole team and we were pleased to have a long drive back home on a win!...

Approximately two weeks ago, after a drive-by examination of municipal residential lots, letters of violation of the town’s junk ordinance were sent to property owners from the Pine Haven clerk’s office, under the auspices of the council, regarding mowing privately owned overgrown areas. Clerk/Treasurer Tammie McGovern recently noted an unexpected issue as recipients began to call the office in response, namely owners of undeveloped parcels: “We don’t know who the empty lots belong to if they don’t have utilities in the system.” This proble...
