A month after the closing of the Moorcroft landfill, Moorcroft Mayor Ben Glenn says it is still too soon to realize the full ramifications of the closure. The Crook County Sheriff’s department received a call regarding a single vehicle accident last Thursday, July 21, at approximately 11:48 p.m. A 17-year-old Pine Haven area resident was driving a Dodge pickup southbound on Liberty Lane just off Highway 113 when the individual lost control of the automobile. Early Friday, July 22, 2022, Donald Lee Peterson, better known as “Pete”, passed away peacefully in his home on his ranch property south of Sundance, Wyoming, at age 83. Pete was born November 3, 1938, in Sundance to Harriet (Waters) Peterson and Lenard Peterson. The Pine Haven Recreation Board hosted a craft day for resident kids Tuesday morning. The plan was to enjoy the sunny weather in Waters Park, but with the cooler temperatures and rain, the party moved to the community center.
