The second annual Show and Shine car show in Pine Haven, hosted by Lakeview Carwash owners Mark and Sharon Coleman was a great hit last Saturday with over 200 guests and 63 entries. The numbers are in for this summer’s fireworks over Keyhole, the Pine Haven Volunteer Fire Department’s largest annual fundraiser and Fire Chief Don Lancaster shared this and other news with the council at last Tuesday’s meeting. Through donations via mail, the department made $7245; attendees put $8198.56 into the boots; and the town contributed $2500, bringing the total donations to $15,738.56. EMT Barb Hardy reported to the Pine Haven Town Council at Last Tuesday’s meeting that, after more than three years working toward getting a motorized gurney for the town ambulance, the goal has been achieved. The hydraulic gurney will provide a safer operating system for the first responders. “It is to mitigate the lifting and possible injuries of our EMTs and firefighters who have to lift the gurney. Political Action Committee Chair Terry Wilkerson, representing the Crook County Senior Services (CCSS), strongly advocated the 1% mill levy that will appear on the ballot this November before Pine Haven’s governing body at last Tuesday’s meeting. Twelve Wyoming students from across the state were recognized for their artwork in Cheyenne on July 13 by Governor Mark Gordon. The celebration acknowledged their achievement in art and excellence in interpreting agriculture and natural resource concepts. Cheyenne woman sentenced for throwing two-month-old daughter CHEYENNE (WNE) — A woman who pleaded guilty to throwing her two-month-old daughter in a ditch was sentenced Monday to seven to ten years in prison, suspended for five years probation, by Laramie County District Judge Steven Sharpe. Lillian Jeffrey was charged with one count of aggravated child abuse in connection with the incident in December 2017. She was also ordered to pay $17,260 and given credit for 538 days of jail time. On July 13, officer unlocked a vehicle for an owner who had locked the keys in their vehicle. On July 14, police noticed a suspicious vehicle at the Moorcroft Town Center. Officers checked the building and surrounding area, no one was located. Vehicle was later gone from the area. On July 15, police received a REDDI report and complainant stated the vehicle and driver were at Coffee Cup. Officers contacted the driver who was found to not be intoxicated. Nothing further.
