    With the new playground equipment on site at Pine Haven's Harwood Park, the date for assembly has been difficult to keep. Last weekend was washed out and the council is hoping the fickle weather will hold without rain through the first weekend in June.     On May 21, 2024, Earl Elvin Rush passed away at the Crook County Long Term Care Facility with his grandson and wife at his side. Elvin was born on January 9, 1935, near Moorcroft, Wyoming, to Earl Jacob and Addie Marie (Moon) Rush. He graduated from Hulett High School and then entered the U.S. Army where he was stationed in England for one year and in the States for the remainder of his service.     A Moorcroft man who already faced charges of attempted murder and kidnapping has now also been charged with “habitual criminal”, a felony that could see him incarcerated for life. Michael Hammond was arrested in April after allegedly beating a woman and then fleeing to Nebraska after she stabbed him in the neck in self-defense.     Pine Haven’s fire department has hosted the Fireworks over the Lake fundraising event for decades and, with changing regulations at the state level, fire chief TJ Gideon has been diligently working to keep the occasion safe from closure.
