    The K-8 spent a day last week designing and building sleds from cardboard and Duct tape and put their ideas to the test by racing their inventions on Friday. There were over 30 and 100 kids who raced in staggered sets of twos, threes and fours.     TDS, a solid waste management company out of Torrington, WY, was brought before the town council by former mayor Steve Sproul as an option for operating the landfill almost a year ago. The contract the company has been preparing for the last several months has been given to the town for consideration, and, at last Monday’s council meeting, the governing body discussed and decided to forego contracting with TDS at this time and will continue the day-to-day operation of the landfill in-house.     The Moorcroft Senior Center hosted a Chili Feed fundraiser Sunday afternoon in their continuing efforts to open their building on South Big Horn Avenue. Though the weather was cold, around 50 guests attended. The band led by Neil Gray livened up the event with live music as everyone shared in the chili and corn bread dinner prepared by Cynthia Clonch and Dee Gray along with cinnamon rolls donated by the Rozet Bar.     At approximately 6:30 p.m. last Friday, a .357 Magnum was found in the middle of South Little Horn Avenue near the entrance of the K-8 parking lot. The weapon had apparently fallen, breaking apart the wooden grips, before coming to rest, still in the leather holster. The revolver was fully loaded with the alternative .38 special “light load”.     Retired Crook County rancher, Bruce William Gose, 90, Upton, Wyoming, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 28, 2019, at Long Term Care in Sundance, Wyoming. He was born Sunday, November 18, 1928, at Hot Springs, South Dakota, the sixth of seven children born to Vernie O. and Mame K. (Thompson) Gose. They lived on the family ranch south of Upton.     During the month of February the Pantry provided assistance to over 98 people. This included nine new clients, 31 youth under the age of 18, and 25 persons over the age of 60. We also shared food with the Blessings program in Sundance, which currently serves 46 youth under the age of 18.
