    Pine Haven public works has been working on improving the town’s ice rink by installing a liner to create a smoother and more contained area for the water to freeze. The remaining parts to complete the rink in Waters Park arrived last week and were immediately set in place by Public Works Director Sunny Schell, Councilwoman Karla Brandenburg and volunteer Terri Mitchell last Wednesday morning.     With Moorcroft Chief of Police Doug “Red” Lundborg retiring in May, for the last several months, the department has been seeking another officer to fill the void. To date, there have only been two applicants and neither are current police officers. If one of these candidates is hired, the time necessary to train them will be approximately four months. “I would have to train him and send him to the academy and it just makes it a hardship,” he says.     According to federal law, every county must organize a group of people whose role is to prepare for a hazardous material spill or environmental hazard. Emergency Management Coordinator Ed Robinson is reintroducing that committee but first, he’s going to need some volunteers.     Ken Dockweiler of Bridger Pipelines updated the county commissioners Tuesday morning on progress made within the county to install a new oil pipeline that will match the route of the existing Butte Pipeline line in this area. Beginning near Hulett and crossing over into Weston County to eventually end up in Guernsey, construction on the line is already in progress further south. Vernie was born July 28, 1929, at the ranch at Inyan Kara Mountain, in the house where she spent most of her adult life, to Thomas J. Ryan and Elaine M. (Hanes) Ryan. Vernie spent her early childhood in Tinton, Central City and Spearfish, South Dakota.     During the month of January, the pantry served 153 people. This included six new clients, 53 under the age of 18 and 44 over the age of 60. Items needed this month include peanut butter, beef and/or chicken ramen and soup. These items may be dropped off in donation boxes at the Crook County Library at 414 E Main St, in the lobby of the school district’s Central Administration Offices at 122 Hwy 585 and at Decker’s Market in Sundance.     Man killed in wreck south of Wright GILLETTE (WNE) — Wyoming Highway 59 was closed for about seven hours Friday after a fiery two-vehicle accident that killed a man.     Rumors spread last week that coronavirus had been diagnosed in Wyoming.     The Wolves wrestling team traveled to Riverton this past weekend to wrestle in the all state, all class Ron Thon Memorial tournament. The tournament consisted of 41 teams from across the state of Wyoming, all competing for the championship belt. The Wolves placed ninth as a team, being the only 2A School to place in the top ten.     On Tuesday, the Lady Wolves traveled to Sundance to take on the Bulldogs. The Junior Varsity team was first up. The game was back and forth until the second half when the Wolves were able to take a lead and never relinquish it while winning the game, 43-34.     Dewey Schoenewald has been arrested on burglary charges after his vehicle was found stuck in snow at a private property where several buildings had been broken into. On January 19, a Crook County Sheriff’s Office sergeant was dispatched to a property in Moorcroft that he describes as sitting on a private road with no fewer than five “No Trespassing” signs in plain view.
