The annual Post prom for Moorcroft Secondary is happening on Saturday, March 23, starting at midnight-4:30 a.m. and will be held at the Moorcroft Fire Hall. All students will receive their admission ticket to the post prom at 11:30 p.m., (after the prom is over) and will not be allowed in without that ticket; also, doors lock and nobody will be allowed into the event after midnight. This past weekend, seven boys and three girls, high school Moorcroft Mat Master wrestlers, traveled to Lander for the Wyoming Amateur Wrestling Association Junior State tournament, wrestling both Greco and Freestyle. The Wolves wrestling team finished up their high school season competing in the state tournament this past weekend, at the Ford Center in Casper. This year, it was a three-day event with a girl's division and all the 2A, 3A and 4A boys' teams from across the state. The Wolves wrestlers had a great weekend of wrestling at their regional tournaments to qualify for the upcoming state tournament this weekend. The Lady Wolves wrestlers started the week off with their dual in Gillette against Campbell County on Tuesday night, February 6. The six girls put up a fight, but came away short, losing the dual, 12-24. Rebekah Anderson was named the All-Conference Wrestler of the Year in the girl's division. The Wolves wrestling team hosted their annual Dylan Humes Memorial tournament this past weekend. The gyms were packed and many exciting matches were wrestled all for the chance to win the championship buckle. With 30 teams invited from Wyoming, North Dakota, Montana and Colorado, they competed in the varsity, junior varsity and girls' divisions. They were scheduled to compete in the Annual Cowboy/Cowgirl tournament in Miles City, MT, but canceled so as not to travel in the cold weather. The Moorcroft Post Prom Committee had a fun and successful post prom celebration for the students and their dates. With being able to use the fire hall as a location, they were able to provide a spacious and adequate environment for the students and all of the activities made available for them. Both the boys’ and girls’ Wolves wrestling teams traveled to Belle Fourche, SD this past weekend to compete in the Belle Fourche Invitational. There, the boys competed against 222 wrestlers from 20 teams and the girls competed with 16 teams and 84 girls. The boys came away with a fourth-place finish and the girls placed tenth.
