Ruhel, known to his family and friends as “Ruhel Tommy” or “Tommy Boy”, was born in Gillette, Wyoming on September 27, 2002. He was the sixth of seven children.
He attended grade school in both Gillette and Moorcroft. He was most recently a freshman at Moorcroft High School.
In 2011, the family moved to Texas for a year and Ruhel always longed to go back. He was a diehard Texas Longhorns fan. Ruhel loved all sports and was an avid wrestler, winning the district championship in 2017.
He was full of life and enjoyed being in the spotlight. He loved making people laugh and brought joy wherever he went.
He enjoyed fishing and listening to music of all kinds. His playlist had everything from Willie Nelson to XXXtentacion.
He was rough and tough and full of wild energy, but he was also very tender. He had a unique appreciation for the simple things in life, like sitting quietly and watching a beautiful sunset.
While Ruhel was always very well liked and had multitudes of friends, family always came first. He was a self-proclaimed “mama’s boy” and playfully deemed “mom’s favorite” by the other kids.
He adored being with his siblings and would choose hanging out with them over being with friends every time. Loyalty was simply a way of life for him.
Although Ruhel’s time on this earth ended tragically and far too soon, the love and laughter he injected into every life that he touched will never be foregotten.
He is survived by his mom and siblings Shannon Stewart, Lane, TayEtta and Jessie, Sonny, AuBrea, Sydney, Joshua, Emma and Paesyn “Peanut” as well as his father Cy Stewart.
He was preceded in death by his Grandpa Duke, Step Brother Willy and his Uncle Chase.
Services were held on Monday December 3, 2018 at the old Moorcroft Elementary gym (101 S. Belle Fourche Ave, Moorcroft, Wyoming 82721) followed by a reception. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been set up in Ruhel’s name at Pinnacle Bank.
