Double triumph for Wolves wrestlers

This past week was a busy one for the Wolves wrestling team. On Thursday, they traveled to Hulett to wrestle in the Conference duals held between Moorcroft, Hulett, Wright and Sundance. There, they brought home nine individual conference champions and, as a team, were the conference team champions.

On Friday, they traveled to Glenrock to wrestle in the Glenrock triangular with Glenrock and Thermopolis, where they won both duals by a great margin. Individual dual results were:

Conference Duals:

Moorcroft vs. Hulett- 69-6

106-Sean Buckmiller won by forfeit; 113-Mica Herrera won by decision, 6-2; 120-Henry Ward lost by decision; 126-Hunter Garoutte won by forfeit; 132-Caleb Cook won by forfeit; 138-Parker Seeley won by pin; 145-Cole Cook won by forfeit; 152-Casey DeLong lost by decision, 8-15; 160-Rowdy Pfeil won by forfeit; 170-Tommy Schlater won by pin; 182-Tucker Allison won by forfeit; 195-Solomon Petz won by forfeit; 220-Chris Morris won by forfeit; and 285-Tanner Feehan won by forfeit.

Moorcroft vs. Sundance- 84-0

Due to sickness and injury, Sundance only brought two wrestlers and had to forfeit the rest. Only two matches were wrestled, 132-Caleb Cook won by pin and 195-Solomon Petz won by pin.

Moorcroft vs. Wright- 63-10

120-Tate Hullinger won by pin; 126-Hunter Garoutte won by forfeit; 132-Caleb Cook won by pin; 138-Parker Seeley won by forfeit; 145-Cole Cook won by major decision, 12-0; 152-Casey DeLong won by forfeit; 160-Rowdy Pfeil won by pin; 170-Tommy Schlater won by tech fall, 19-4; 182-Tucker Allison won by pin; 195-Solomon Petz lost by decision, 7-8; 220-Chris Morris lost by decision, 2-5; 285-Tanner Feehan won by forfeit; 106-Sean Buckmiller won by pin; and 113-Mica Herrera lost by major decision, 3-12.

Ending the conference duals, Powder River All Conference champions from Moorcroft were:

The number one ranked Wolves took on the number two ranked Herders. Three JV matches were held before the varsity dual.

Up next for the Wolves is their Regional Tournament this Saturday, February 17, in Burns, followed by the State tournament the 23rd-24th.
